TulsiThe Tulsi plant (Holy Basil) is highly revered by Hindu's as it is precious to Lord Vishnu (the Preserver of the Universe). It also contains healing elements that are used in Ayurvedic remedies. Here are some of the ways Tulsi can benefit your health:

Did you know that Tulsi is a key ingredient in many cough syrups? That is because the plant contains properties that help to draw and flush out mucus. Chewing Tulsi leaves helps to combat cold and flu.

To get rid of the irritation of a sore throat, crush two Tulsi leaves in a cup of boiling water. Wait till cooled; then consume.

Tulsi actually reduces blood cholesterol levels! Hence it is good for patients with cardiac disease and heart disorder. Drinking the juice extracts is beneficial.

Talking about juice extracts of Tulsi, adding honey and consuming this mixture on a regular base, actually has a positive effect in releasing kidney stones!

This holy plant has many other medicinal properties such as the prevention of stress, purifying the blood and curing infections.
