Blog - Tell Us Your Stories

Everybody has a story to tell: whether it is about where they came from, how they grew up, what kind of a life they have led. Everyone has done something interesting in their lives – whether they started something important, created something important, or just watched something important happen.

‘Indians In Africa’ wants to hear your stories. We want to hear what it is like to be an Indian in Africa, what it is like to follow a culture that comes from another country, how different cultures have merged or grown. Indians have made an enormous contribution to South Africa in all spheres – politics, the economy, the culture, the language – even the cooking (actually, especially the cooking!)

The ‘Indians In Africa’ website is dedicated to promoting debate and discussion around issues affecting Indians living in Africa and – at the same time – informing other cultures about our rich and varied lives and histories. We would like you to help us with this discussion and debate by contributing your stories.

Perhaps you would like to tell us about where your family came from, perhaps you have memories of growing up, perhaps you or your family were part of an historic event. Please write these stories down and send them to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Head them ‘Indians In Africa Tell Us Your Stories’. Alternatively you can send them to PO Box 65561, Reservoir Hills 4090. Please make sure they are not more than 300 words long. If you feel you would like some help in writing your stories down, please let us know and our editor will assist you.
